Labour's Weak Rebels

...caved in to the whips once again. Worst culprit of all was, arguably, Graham Allen MP, former rebel who spent some time yesterday touting the Labour Party line in the media. He claimed that he was supporting the Government because the Conservatives consistent line (that a full inquiry was needed into the decisions leading up to the Iraq war) was, for some reason, bringing politics into it. That line itself is a massive piece of political spin.

Graham Allen has rebelled when convenient, but has backed off when the opportunity really was there to hold Blair to account for his actions over Iraq - talking tough, acting weak. I hope someone reminds his constituents of this when it comes to election time.
