Iraq withdrawal - substance over presentation please

I am a little concerned about the debate that is going on over Iraq at the moment. William Hague was absolutely right when he said that there should be an open debate about the way to go forwards. My concern is that the Government will go for an option that allows them to save face and will put that as a priority over doing what is right.

There can be no doubt that toeing the American line on Iraq has created a shambles. But it is a mess of our own making and we cannot ignore our responsibilities. History suggests that our Government's thinking will be about presentation rather than substance.
