NHYes

I have been out this morning taking part in the Conservatives' NHS Campaign in my own Town, Whittlesey. These sort of events are really important, not only because they help put across the Conservative message, but also because it is a great way of chatting with people about how issues affect them.

I was surprised exactly how strong the feelings are about our Health Service, there were a number of NHS workers all too willing to sign our petition because of what is happening to them and many. many people disappointed that the Government cannot see the impact that their "regionalised" hospitals will have on families when a relative is admitted. This is really important in Fenland, where there are still deprivation issues and where we are constantly seeing services moved further and further away.

Not surprisingly, the lack of NHS dentists is also still a major issue.

So, I hope you explained that Tory policy is to abolish NHS dentistry and replace it was an insurance based scheme.

Don't assume all workers in the NHS are anti-Tory. Many of those I met recently (see my blog) expressed distinctly conservative (small c) views and might well be Tory voters at the next election. Of course, many feel that the NHS suffered under the last Conservative government, but the more thoughtful doctors I have spoken to see the damage done by Labour to the NHS, especially by bringing in the Working Time Directive, to apply to junior doctors.
