Fun in the North East

I did the Great North Run today - my first Half Marathon (2h 16m 16s if you need to know). It was a great event and I want to just say thanks to the crowds who came out in support, the atmosphere on the day made things so much easier.

It is hard to imagine the lengths some people go, giving out freeze pops, standing atop a bus shelter spraying water, putting out tables full of water and chocolate biscuits, or just standing on the route clapping and shouting.

This may sound soppy (and I don't care) but the people of the North East touched me this weekend.

Just to give you a bit of a laugh, the picture is of me at the end. Do I look like I've ran 13 miles or 113?
