Brown struggles against FIONA PHILLIPS!!

I had the misfortune of watching Fiona Phillips on GMTV this morning talking with Gordon Brown. It astonished me how easily the Chancellor was stumped by such a lightweight interview, and despite obvious bias. At the point when Brown was at his most broody, they both embarked on a mutual love-in where they agreed he wasn't brooding. But the most telling point was when Fiona asked him a number of times whether he had discussed the timetable for handover with Tony Blair. Time and again he dodged the question. It was so blatant he might just as well have said "No I haven't, I can't talk to Tony."

It is impossible to believe we have got ourselves into a position in this Country where the Prime Minister cannot have an open discussion with his own Chancellor, who happens to be his chosen successor?

One other quote from Geraldine Smith MP on Sky today says it all:

"I am surprised there are still people willing to vote for us.!

I saw it, too. She always looks as though she's fawning over her "subjects." Brown will never go head to head with a serious interviewer, much less take questions from the public. He thinks he's above all that. His bubble will burst very quickly when the country clicks on that he's a Scottish MP yearning to rule England. No defence.

I can only imagine. Mr Blair began his premiership in 1997 by cutting back Prime Minister’s Questions. It was inevitable that such a treatment would extend to within his own Cabinet.

I am pleased that others have noticed the awful bias that Fiona Phillips appears to have in favour of Labour ministers - particularly GB & TB. Anybody up for forming a campaign to highlight this bias? - although GMTV is lightweight TV it has a large and impressionable audience. Cheers Hugh www.hughsandeman.co.uk
