Labour Chaos in Crewe

I spent a day doing my bit for the Conservatives in Crewe and Nantwich yesterday.

I am astonished by the incompetence and bitterness of the Labour campaign literature. They have very little of substance to say. The only way can have an impact is from endorsements by Sir Alex Ferguson and Dawn wotsername who was in Coronation Street. The catchphrase "after all she's a Dunwoody" floats around on the literature, but her historic allegiance to Wales and the fact that she lives miles away is a big issue with people and conflicts with the "one of us" message that is on the Labour posters.

Their literature is simply different versions of the despicable "he's a toff" argument that provides more evidence that New Labour under Gordon Brown have nothing good to say any more.

I even saw one leaflet with "Tories in chaos over 10p tax rate" - how can they say that and retain even an ounce of credibility?

I do believe it will be tight on Thursday because of the size of swing that is needed. Of course I hope for a Conservative victory, but whatever the outcome Labour have lost the moral argument.
