A Great Day for Northern Ireland

Unlike the previous time that the NI assembly was running, I have real confidence that we are seeing the end of violent sectarianism in NI, that truly is a fantastic thing - and it is something that both John Major and Tony Blair take great credit for.

There are still issues to do with the Real IRA and certain Unionist groups to resolve - but I think they are also mostly resolved. I hope I'm right, but today really is a day for optimism.
