Double-Standards in the Political System

If I were to use my position as a Councillor to campaign for an organisation to retain its political influence when I was receiving funding from them, I would be referred to the Standards Board and probably be found guilty.

According to the Register of Members' Interests John McDonnell MP received Union Donations for his his election Campaign yet he is, apparently, able to submit Early Day Motions supporting the continuation of Union funding for the Labour Party, as did a number of the signatories of that motion.
