Travellers

I have turned up for work this morning to find about 8-10 caravans and accompanying vehicles have taken over the shared car park outside our offices. These travellers have taken up spaces that are much in demand and even after just one night the Car Park has more rubbish drifiting across it than ever before.

You wonder why travellers have a bad name. You also wonder what sense there is in a Government plan which uses Regional Spacial Strategies to force local authorities to build pitches to meet all the demands of travellers , sending a message across the world that Britain will accommodate every single traveller, good or bad (and I accept that there are large numbers of responsible travellers), that choose to move here.

I am sure there is more to the Government policy than I understand. But when you see what I can see from my office window, it does make you somewhat blinkered.
