Schools' Annual Reports
I am in the middle of writing the Chairman of Governors bit for Alderman Jacobs Primary School Annual Report. It is something I really enjoy doing because it gives me the opportunity to look at all the positive things that have happened over the last year. I think it says something about the school (and I am sure the same is true for any successful school) that I never find it difficult to find positive things to write about. Results may not be as good -that happens sometimes - but as I have said before, results are not everything in a school especially if you are taking one year in isolation.
This year I am able to talk about the schools successful contribution to a NOF bid for a £1/2m investment in an all-weather sports pitch on the playing fields (successfully working with Sir Harry Smith Community College with whom we share the site and where I am also a Governor) and the completion of our extension which will see the removal of 3 mobile classrooms. This is investment we have been after for years and years and it has come about through some very successful lobbying and from good leadership in the school.
