Having an Impact Already

You might recall that in my first leaflet I mentioned that way back in March, Fenland District Council agreed to move to a four bin system as part of the Government’s Simpler Recycling scheme and that, despite saying they would, they had so far failed to consult residents.
Surprise, surprise they have now decided to publish some information about it. So far I have seen an article in the Wisbech Standard and a few facebook posts. The information is a bit vague and I think a little confused too, but they have promised further information later on. Irrespective, I am pleased they have done this - it means residents can plan.
I am sure that of course they will claim that it’s a coincidence that this information has come out at the same time as I am delivering election leaflets that criticise the lack of communication, but I am certain they have done this is a reaction to my comments. I have said before that the mess the Conservatives are making of our councils means that we need to elect someone who can make an impact from day one; this is evidence that I can and will make a difference - I am even managing to make change happen it as a candidate.
One final point. At the start of this election campaign Fenland District council, apparently, cancelled the consultation about the proposed redevelopment of the Manor Leisure Centre because of “necessary pre-election restrictions.”. The question is, why is announcing this policy about change to bin collections (including asking for comments) any different to the consultation over the Manor Leisure Centre?
