I have talked quite a bit in my leaflets and on this blog about my experience as a Councillor, I make no apologies for that. Fenland District Council needs to be better and I believe I can use my experience to make that happen, so part of what I have to do is give you the evidence of my achievements. This image on the right is another example. It is an extract from an article in the Cambridge News from 2014 that was written by George Osbourne, who was then the Chancellor of the Exchequer. It followed a decision by the Government to offer a series of grants which totalled £500m to help develop the Cambridge economy. I played a key role in making this agreement happen, including having a few difficult conversations with Ministers.
This is the sort of experience and record that I want to bring to Fenland District Council.
