Lessons from the US Election

I am still not convinced by Obama for all sorts of reasons, but neither was I entirely convinced by McCain, not least because his choice of Palin as a running mate was such poor judgement.

For the UK the biggest lesson to learn from this is about how to improve voter turnout. None of the maniluplating and playing with the integrity of the ballot to get people to vote, more a true engaging political contest that got more people out than at any contest over the last 100 years.

Here's hoping New Labour and the Electoral Commission learn from it.
