Work and Pensions Secretary Steals Conservative Policies

It is reassuring to see the Work and Pensions Secretary calling for more voluntary and public sector involvement in overcoming poverty. This will mean he will have to fight against the centralisation agenda that his own New Labour bosses have been incessantly pursuing since 1997, so I doubt it will happen.

This is exactly the agenda that Iain Duncan Smith has been pursuing since stepping down as leader of the Conservative Party, through his excellent Centre for Social Justice.

I wonder if John Hutton will be big enough to admit that he has resorted to stealing policies off IDS?
