Milliband and "The Poodle" distance Labour Party from Common Sense
This article in the Guardian from David Milliband and Geoff Hoon will do nothing but good for the Conservative cause. It claims that David Cameron's Green agenda means nothing unless he changes his stance on Europe.
That position is blatantly absolute twaddle which only the Guardian would give creedence to. David Cameron has opposed the European model we have now, that does not mean that he cannot co-operate on Green issues. The article cites Kyoto as an example. Whilst the EU took a joint position on Kyoto it also required agreement of many other Nations - most of whom are also not in the EU. Based on the Poodle and Milliband argument, because they are outside of the EU, none of those Nations have legitimate green credentials either.
Prior to the Common Market we colluded with most of Europe; in opposing the Nazis; in opposing the march of Communism; through EFTA, etc., etc., all this without the existence of any centralising and ever-controlling European ethos. Quite blatantly the same sort of collusion on Green Issues is possible whatever position the Conservatives take within the EU.
