The BBC Hides Good Tory News (again)

The news today from the Conservative Party that they are to select their mayoral candidate through an open primary system is important and significant news (albeit not unexpected). It is new territory in the UK, and opens up loads of new options for candidate selection.

So why is the story featured almost as an afterthought on the BBC's UK Politics page?
