Alastair Campbell goes up a notch in my estimations

I have to say he still has a long ladder to climb and probably doesn't give a hoot what I think of him, but Alastair Campbell went up in my estimations yesterday. I ran the Bananaman10k in London yesterday - a fundraiser for Leukemia Research (and my first ever 10k). Alastair Campbell also ran as one of a number of celebrity runners (all of the others were soap stars I have never heard of).

Alastair's attitude was excellent, I saw him signing loads of stuff and having his photo taken. He was also part of my inspiration - he is a far better runner than me, but part of my 58m45s performance was because I was determined he wouldn't lap me!! I was tempted to get a photo with him for my election literature next year - but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.

I now ask the question about whether my other major figure of hate in the Government, Geoff "Blair's Poodle" Hoon, would do anything like this? The answer is probably that it would depend on whether the Prime Minister told him to.

Yes, he should stick to running. We dont need to read or hear his opinions.
