Poverty - the biggest example of New Labour failure

A little hung over today because I was out partying in Highbury last night. Great effort by the Gooners, shame about the result :>(

This report from the BBC is perhaps the biggest example yet of the failure of New Labour, given that poverty is supposed to be at the core of the Labour ethos. It seems that the proud boasts about cutting poverty do not stand up to serious scrutiny.

Doesn't it also prove the case about the failure of means testing?
