Home Office: No apologies for it's latest blunders

In wrongly identifying University and Job Applicants as criminals and sex offenders, the Ciminal Records Bureau has prevented people furthering careers and fulfilling Educational ambitions. It says the errors are "regrettable" but will not apologise to those concerned.

This is a stubborn and unjust position which, pretty much reflects the appalling state the organisation seems to be in. It is possible that the refusal to apologise is because Home Office lawyers can foresee the writs that would follow. But if they have made mistakes that have had a negative effect on people's lives they should apologise and accept the consequences.
