Collapsing Grass Roots Support for Labour
Do you ever wonder what “the project” is doing for the long-term future of the Labour Party?
We have had two local elections in Cambridgeshire in recent weeks. Both have seen a total collapse in the Labour vote. The most recent one, a Fenland District Council election, had a 42% turn-out. There were five candidates including; the two main parties; the Lib Dems; and two independents. The Labour Party came 5th with just 12 votes out of 587 cast.
Now admittedly Labour didn’t exactly put up a good local candidate. But normally, you would still at least expect the Labour core vote to stand-up; 12 votes suggests that there no longer is one! By-Election results from the same day across the Country suggest the same thing, with either no Labour candidates or a significant drop in votes (at least 5% in every seat where they stood, with an overall drop of 16.5%)
Part of the reason for this is that the Party itself has collapsed with a total dearth of candidates and campaigners, largely because, as socialists, their principles are totally opposite to the Labour Party in its current guise, and the lack of any solid principles in New Labour makes it difficult to attract new people.
My prediction is that the relatively short-term thinking that has gone into New Labour will mean that once they lose power, and their funding starts to dry up, the Labour Party will not have any capacity to recover and will start an unending slide towards becoming the 3rd party in British politics.

And by the time of the next GE, the issue of an English Parliament will be so high on the agenda, that the Conservatives will have some explaining to do themselves. The same party, who pretend to be unionist, are supporting a Scottish Parliament and the discriminatory Barnett Formula, yet deny England the same democratic rights. Democracy is not a privilege, it our right.
I suspect Labour will be able to recover when GB takes over. I doubt it will do them much good overall but he should rally their core vote.
Labour destroy the country EVERY time they are in power, and there has never been a more traitorous anti-English party as this, Bliar OUT, Brown OUT, English Parliament NOW!
NO MORE SCOTS running (ruining) England.
As David Cameron said to Tony Blair" You were the future once."
The same goes for Gordon Brown.
As David Cameron once said to Tony Blair" You were the future once."
The same will apply to Gordon Brown,he is already yesterdays man.
