Revolting Lib Dem MPs Defeat Kennedy
Somebody had to do the revolting joke – so why not me?
With Charles Kennedy’s resignation politics has won. That is a good thing.
The forthcoming leadership election will be interesting. It is for the Lib Dems to decide who is their leader but, as an elector and as someone who is passionate about restoring the reputation of British politics, I would like to know whether that leader was complicit in deceiving the electorate during the run-up to the General Election campaign, where Kennedy was blatantly denying a drink problem whilst receiving treatment; a fact which a number of senior Lib Dems were apparently aware of and chose to ignore for the sake of their own careers (at the expense of the best interests of the voters of Great Britain).
A major part of the Lib Dem campaign was about accusing the Government of peddling lies over Iraq (quite rightly). However, it now seems extremely likely that every candidate in the forthcoming leadership contest was toeing that particular line whilst, at the same time, participating in a deceit of significant proportions. That is the sort of hypocrisy that voters should not be subjected to and they should be made aware exactly who took part in it.

Its amazing the Lib Dems thought that the right place for a drunken jock was in number 10! But then they're not that much different from the Cons and Labour in that sense, are they?
It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. It gives one a certain sense of "schadenfreude" :-)
