What is the surest sign of a Government in Crisis?

1. They can no longer bully controversial bills through Parliament


2. The whole of the spin machine turns out in force to deny there is a crisis


3. Both of the above

What is annoying is that the whole country knows the Government is in crisis – so when the likes of Dr John Reid turn up on television denying it, it does their cause no good whatsoever – and what is more – this feeble attempt at denying the obvious causes harm to politics in general.  But New Labour don’t care about that, just about hanging on to power.
