Is Blair to be held to account over Iraq after all?

According to this article a coalition of MPs (I think driven by the Impeach Blair campaign) are to table a motion for a Parliamentary investigation into the conduct of Blair and his Ministers both before and after the Iraq War.

Reading the article, it looks like there are MPs from all parties supporting this, with only 30 Labour rebels needed to carry the motion.

Even so long after the event it is absolutely right that the effort to hold a proper investigation into the conduct of Ministers over Iraq should continue - especially that of the Prime Minister and his one-time chief poodle Geoff Hoon.  Hutton and Butler both failed to do it, because of a limited remit (and because Hutton was a whitewash).  This committee, which will comprise seven Privy Councillors with the power to call intelligence Chiefs and Senior Ministers, may be the perfect answer – I hope there are enough MPs with the strength of character to back this motion.

I doubt if enough MPs will have the strength of character to follow the pursuit of Blair and Straw through. Blair will never be held to full account unfortunately - Brown could pay the price at the next election
